Best. Plan. Ever.

About the Couchathon

Like all the best ventures in mankind’s short history, there may have been drinking involved in the conception of the Couchathon.

First take The Imponderables, four of Canada’s most skilled comedians, and force them all into a tiny room. Then ask for donations to two great charities. The more people donate, the more the “ass-tranauts” have to stay in the tiny room. On the couch. Performing for you, their unseen audience.

Then have the demented team at Rocket Ace Moving Pictures torment them endlessly and put the whole thing live on the Internet.

Part Jerry Lewis telethon, part comedy skinner-box - we have absolutely no idea what will happen at the Couchathon, except that those of you out there will probably enjoy it a heck of a lot more than we will.

About the Charities

Since 2003 Child’s Play has raised over four million dollars to provide books, films, videogames, toys, and other entertainment and play therapy tools to Children’s hospitals in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Egypt.

SickKids Foundation is the largest non-governmental granting agency in child health in Canada. Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation has granted over $500 million to The Hospital for Sick Children and over $60 million to researchers across the country.

Dramatis personæ

The Imponderables are one of Canada’s hottest sketch troupes, and multiple Canadian Comedy Award nominees and winners for their performances. Having plied their trade at comedy festivals worldwide they are excited about how the couch-a-thon is a completely new frontier for painful, live, self-experimentation. Suckers. More information on the Imponderables can be found at www.theimponderables.com.

Rocket Ace Moving Pictures are Canada’s oldest continuously operating internet video group, and multiple Canadian Comedy Award nominees for their humorous web videos and series (many with the Imponderables). They are excited that the Imponderables might actually kill each other during the couchathon. More information on RocketAce can be found at www.rocketace.ca.

More information on licorice can be found on the internet.
